I have been sitting in the emergency room for 15 hours and counting. Wife came in because of food poisoning (she is pregnant as well) but OB never showed.. vascular reports took more than 6-hrs to come. We were placed in the hallway and stayed there the whole time. There is no place to sit for family members who are with the patient because the hallways would become too crowded for beds to move. It felt that the billing personnel showed up to our hallway bed more than doctors or nurses.

Always have a good experience at LIJ North Shore Hospital. Valet parking available. But it's better to find a street parking spot. Highly recommend this state of the art hospital

Only positive:

Non-medical staff are very friendly and really try to help. A few people who wear black scrubs with the tag "Ed Tech" were extremely helpful and constantly checked on me and wife to see if we're comfortable.

Avery- who was handing out snacks as a volunteer was really friendly.

this place terrible will not be coming here again nurses are very rude! they want you out right away. i was also forced to take blood thinner shot after saying no nurse put into my stomach! my roomate got told off by some other language cause she was yelling at them very disrespectful she was upset to make fun of her. my food always came cold nurses argued about who gonna change patitent i mean cmon it your job why argue?! .i will not come back there again.

I gave birth at this hospital at Katz and it was the best experience ever. The doctors, nurses and receptionists were amazing, they were amazing and caring about me and the baby. I was induced and they were very informative about every procedure I was undergoing, the nurses were quick and caring. The recovery room treatment was amazing, they're all private rooms and they pretty much cater and treat you great. Me and my baby were well taken care of, I'm so glad that I came here and recommend it to anybody who is expecting.

This is an amazing hospital. The staff is friendly and helpful. They know what they are doing and they are great at their job. Sometimes they can be busy but they do their best to answer your every need and question and make you comfortable.
